Measuring with Rice

Today Miss Lovegrove and the children talked about volume and practised comparing containers, estimating measures and checking by using cups of rice.  What fun! What a mess! Mrs Russell had to go and get the vacuume cleaner before the cleaning lady saw what we had done.    There was lots of lovely measuring language going on and some great maths work.  Here they are....

There was lovely sharing and helping in Room 13 today.

Miss Lovegrove reminded some of us what we needed to do.

We tried to measure at the same time but....

We found it was better to take turns.
