Hail!

Today we had an amazing hail storm at school.  It was so loud on the roof outside our window that we just had to go outside and check it out.  We touched it, ate it, threw it and felt it on our skin.  It was as cold as ice. (funny that).  Then we came inside and googled hail to find out where it came from.  We found out that it comes from the clouds and that there is a funny "dance" that ice crystals do with the wind which causes it to fall to us on earth.  Ask me if I can tell you about it.
Here we are:

Happy Birthday Luke

Today is Luke's 6th birthday.  He is the last of us to turn 6 and we celebrated with yummy cupcakes his Mum, Olga made.  We hope our friend Luke has a super day.

Pizza

Today we finally made our pizza for Golden Time.  Thank you to Luke who brought feta cheese (yum) and salami and to our photographers, Rose and Zach.  It was such fun and on Monday, we are going to write about it.  Yipee!

Look at this clever boy!

Today was a very special day for Byron.  He received the highly sought after Principal's Shield in Assembly for "amazing progress in reading through hard work and practice" Byron managed during Term 3 to move from level 12 up to level 20 which is no easy feat.  I am very proud of him and I know his parents Ben and Andrea are too.

Congratulations Buddy!

Ziggy

Today we had a special visitor.  Ziggy the Blue Tongued Lizard came to Room 13 and we learnt some new facts.....

*Blue tongued lizards are cold blooded

*They eat snails and dog food

*They need to be kept warm with a lamp and a heat pad

*They can live to 100!

Here we are with Ziggy....

Ziggy belongs to Savannah and her mum Hannah.

He felt scaly.

We think he is cool!

Ronald McDonald

Today we had a special treat!  Ronald McDonald came to school to teach us about road safety.  He was tall, had red hair and stripey socks and he was very funny.  We all listened to his message and watched his funny show and we had fun, fun, fun!  Here we are enjoying the Ronald McDonald show.....
We sat and listened really carefully.

Ronald arrived and set up his story screen.  He didn't realise we were there!

We all laughed and clapped and joined in.

There was some serious stuff too.

Like Ronalds rule about stopping, looking and listening before crossing the road.

Ronald acted out the story while Miss Andrews read the words.

Ronald thought we might be sitting on his lost sock. We looked......

Mya found the sock.  It was stuck to Ronalds back!

Good times at school with Ronald McDonald's road safety show
